Chia-Chee Kuan has a distinguished 20-plus year career developing unique intellectual property and building game-changing companies focused on networking technologies and enterprise data centers / clouds. From early day pre-Internet TCP/IP standards development, to IP-based video streaming, to Wi-Fi security, to his current Multi-Cloud workload performance management, Mr. Kuan is a pioneering technologist who has been granted 16 U.S. patents.
In addition to his addiction to innovate technically, Mr. Kuan has been an entrepreneur for decades in Silicon Valley. His co-founded companies including AirMagnet and Precept Software have been very successful financially and acquired by industry giants such as Cisco Systems and Danaher Corporation for over $100M USD. Mr. Kuan has his fair share of his startup success and fumbles. To this date, Mr. Kuan is still in his startup pursue in the Silicon Valley raising venture capital funds, innovating disruptive technologies and dedicatedly running his company, Uila, to replicate success.
Mr. Kuan holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s in Information Engineering from National Taiwan University.
Abstract
Having founded and run a few startup companies from scratch to blossom and some to the ground, Mr. Kuan will share his life lessons learned through his decades of experiences. Besides the Dos and Donts in starting up businesses tactically and strategically, Mr. Kuan will also cover the ability to endure emotional highs and lows in order to survive and thrive. The talk is not about becoming a genius and building a billion-dollar enterprise but an average everyday entrepreneur builds a promising business and having fun doing it.
