Dr. Chien-Yung Ma studied material science and metallurgy at the University of Stuttgart in Germany and received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry in 1993. After his return to Taiwan, Dr. Ma served in Chung-shan Institute of Science and Technology, Armaments Bureau until 2000. Later, Dr. Ma joined the WALSIN LIHWA group and was in charge of the Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) business unit, which later becomes Touch Micro-System Technology. Since Nov. 2007, he had been serving in Solar Applied Materials Technology Corporation (SAMT) as the President and was responsible for global business operation and all-sites manufacture status. In 2016, he became the Chairman of SAMT, leading the whole group of SAMT toward the high end semiconductor for tsmc and related companies in Taiwan. Dr. Ma continuously devotes his expertise and passion in alloy design and microstructure control, 3nm/5nm/7nm sputtering targets for front end semiconductor, as well as powder metallurgy and special precision forming.
